Blake's Fun Day

Another gorgeous day in the big city and we took full advantage. First we strolled over to Central Park with lots of friends and enjoyed time at the children's zoo. Blake didn't really get too friendly with the animals, but instead climbed all over the fun "toys" at the zoo.
Then we took a break and had a little lunch, and then 4 2-year-olds were off to rock-climb. It was 4 little ones and only 2 mommies (the other mommies had to stay down to watch all 0f the babies in the strollers who can't rock climb yet). Due to the kids outnumbering the big people, we thought it was best to go somewhere a little less scary and stressful. So we headed to the playground nearby with the giant slide and sandbox and they were all just as happy playing there.

Nap time was approaching so home we headed, but on the way, I bought Blake a strawberry popsicle. Although he enjoyed it, his hand couldn't say the same...as he held the popsicle stick in his hand, the popsicle itself was also resting right on his hand. When we were one block from the house, he started really crying...his poor little hand got a tinge of frost bite. Mommy felt AWFUL! It was fire engine red, a little swollen and whitish too. Luckily with some warm water when we came home, it was a little better, but still very red. Today it seems to be getting better. Who knew a popsicle could be so dangerous, yikes! Nap time was a good break, then we took a stroll around the block. I held Addie in the Baby Bjorn facing forward for the first time while Blake rode his bicycle the whole way, all by himself! Unbelievable peddling!

Then the highlight of the day came...Daddy took Blake to his second UNC Tarheel basketball game at Madison Square Garden. Although the outcome was not as we had hoped for, the boys had so much fun together. They had front row seats too.
