Under The Big Top

Yesterday, we went to the Greatest Show On Earth! The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey put on a fabulous show, both for the little ones and mommy and daddy. I can't even remember when I went to the circus last, but boy have we been missing out! This is the MOST still we have ever seen Addie (for the first half anyway), she was so enthralled as was her big brother. To see the looks of excitement and awe on their faces was so adorable. I highly recommend this show to anyone, both big and small.

In the pictures below, it is hard to see much of the show, but hope you can tell by our big smiles how great it was. Lions, elephants, clowns, tightropes, jugglers, fire, horses, zebras, bikes, and so much more!

Waiting in anticipation for the big show.

Sit, Fetch, Roll Over...not really

In an effort to show you some of our daughter's amazing feats, I prompted her to show you a few of her talents in this video. Please don't take this as me treating Addie like a dog taking commands, but rather a proud mommy showing everyone her fun little tricks!

Boot Scootin' Boogie

For those of you who have not been fortunate enough to witness Addie's scoot in person, please sit back and enjoy!

Although she is beginning to walk more, scooting is still her preferred mode of transport!

Future Picassos

Monie got the little ones an easel for Christmas. They both have so much fun sitting on either side doing their "artwork." Addie puts the magnetic letters and numbers on and off while Blake draws and erases with chalk. Blake even starting writing a few shapes and letters the other day.

Their Sunday Best

We FINALLY made it to church for the first time since living in Alabama...shame on us. But, nonetheless, we all got prettied up and we're on our way. Addie stayed at a little daycare playroom, while Blake sat like SUCH a big boy in church with us. He even went up to get blessed by the priest (walking by himself with his hands folded like he was praying) when Daddy took communion.

New Wheels

Santa had a belated Christmas present waiting for Addie when we returned home from Oregon. Thanks to big brother's pushes, this is a fun new game for the two of them. Count to 3, push, then crash, Addie thinks it is hilarious!

A White Christmastime

We spent Christmas in Oregon this year with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie and Uncle Tony (and Sophie too)! The night we arrived it was already a winter wonderland. So the next day we headed to the store to ensure Blake had all of his necessary gear for this wintry weather. He got new snow boots, a hat, mittens, a kid-sized snow shovel and of course a sled. He was ready for anything now!

On Christmas Eve, Blake and Daryl sprinkled the reindeer food he'd made at school all over the lawn. Then Blake strategically picked out all of the cookies he did not like and put those out for Santa. It was so funny to watch him choose the cookies...he needs to realize that Santa is on his side and he likes the good cookies too! Daryl and I both read " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas" to Blake before bed. This was a tradition that Pop Pop used to do to all of his children and grandchildren on Christmas Eve.

For the rest of the trip, we enjoyed family time together, went bowling, played with all of the kid's new toys, ate lots of good food and sweets and filled the house with love and happiness!
